 Del G. - Lead Vocals
Del grew up in Englewood, New Jersey. From 1955 to 1962, he performed with 2 groups, “The Encores” & “The Phaetons”. The Encores competed in weekly “Wednesday Amateur Nights” at the Apollo Theater. Twice they came in second competing against stiff competition since there were many, many acts including Aretha Franklin...Del sang lead in the U.S. Air Force with the vocal group, “The Group”. They won first place in The World Wide Talent Show for Vocal Groups at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California and spent the remaining 2 years in “Special Services” performing for the military...During the 70’s and 80’s, Del sang lead with a local lounge group called “Long Train”. He is one of the original members of
“The Boyz -R- Back” where he works on harmonies and arrangements as well as singing lead on most ballads. Del is currently in Georgia battling Cancer. We are praying for his recovery back to good health. We love and miss him dearly. May God Bless You Del!!!
